I live in Australia, so I'm no expert on UK or US law. But my understanding is that unlicensed celebrity content is illegal under US law. That is unless it's used to illustrate a story, review or commentary in which case it's protected under US free speech laws. Hence the fact that MrSkin.com (which offers movie reviews and actor biographies) is apparently 100% legal.

As for stealing content from sites that stole the content in the first place, you're probably no more breaking the law than they are, ie. the site probably can't sue you, but the celeb or the copyright holder probably could

I've no idea if any of this applies in the UK.

Smells like a can of worms to me
