This is true...and it could be culturally bias too...for example if you ask how many liters of water does an elephant drink in a day it might be general knowledge somewhere else but here people wouldn't have a clue..
Also the majority of people are indeed intelligent if you have a fair sample...just look at that show millionaire...the audience is always right
THis interview the sample might be filtered and if it wasn't it sure wasn't like 100 people which is still tiny
