We could and should close down a lot of military bases. For reasons I don't understand we are still in Korea, holding the line in that sixty year battle.
The truth is after sixty years, civilian development has crept up to the military bases, and now the civilians don't want airplanes flying over their houses. At the same time, these same civilians fail to understand that all of the commercial development in the area is directly related to the military base. This is a common problem here in the United States with both military and public airports.
But I have the perfect solution for our problem with Japan. Return Iwo Jima to the United States, and m make it the only US military base in the area. Problem solved.
