exclusive or custom does not necessarily mean you're getting re-seller rights. It would definitely have to be clarified in a contract with the provider.
as far as I'm concerned "exclusive" means just that and nothing more. you cannot re-sell the content.

for you to actually "own" the content or images you would have to have documented proof that the author/creator of the material has transferred all copyright on the material to the buyer.

to go a little further, if you do re-sell the material, and are not the actual producer who is responsible for the 2257 recordkeeping, can anyone answer this.. possibly some content brokers that deal with a lot of different producers. I don't deal with brokers but as far as I understand before they will sell any photographer's content , a re-seller agreement has to be signed.
