Nonsense. Things like culture and activities play a huge role. What you are saying would imply that most americans are genetically designed to get fat, while most ethiopians are genetically designed to stay thin.
Truth is, for most people it all depends on what they eat and how they spend their days. If you eat junkfood, work a deskjob and don't exercise, chances are you will get fat. If you eat healthy food and live an active life, chances are you will stay thin.
95% of diets fail because people are lazy, ill-disciplined pigs that don't want to take responsibility for what they do and diet in the stupidest way possible (if a diet is a fight, you're probably doing something wrong). 5% of diets fail because of biological problems.
