I know...I offered my sympathies...as I had to put down one of my two dogs a few months ago. I still miss her...very much and have the feeling that I always will. BTW she was about 8 years also...but developed terminal cancer. I always took the two dogs with me fishing...and hiking/camping in the wilderness...and they loved it. I took her out one last time to one of her favorite spots and shot her in the head. I buried her...covered her with lime and put lime on top of the grave...to keep the animals from getting to her. I occasionally go to her grave to make sure it is still sound.
