Make sure you set up your blog correctly on install. Especially in regards to the page name/description (instead of 1234). You can find that in the admin.

Also use good keywords in your posts. You do not need to do keyword stuffing per se. However, you do need to use relevant terms consistently.

Additionally, add in Google Analytics, and some form of consistent updates. Daily, weekly, etc..
