Dont hate. Its not just for snobby people. I dont live in the upper west side. I just hope my doormen dont go on strike

They really are a huge convenience
To the OP. They are in a labor union. The labor union negotiates there pay and benefits and such. The contract they have right now for labor is expiring with building owners and they are trying to negotiate for more money and better benefits.
