I'm not sure what the heck you are talking about, but the things said during the 70s and the 80s on both sides politically were just as divisive as they are today. As for the media, there was ONLY liberal viewpoints represented before the rise of talk radio and Fox. I worked as a camera operator on an ENG truck contracted to KTLA in the 80s. Every single person I worked with and came into contact with was an outspoken liberal, and I personally saw news stories re-edited or just not aired at all in order to align with the viewpoint of the editors and producers, who were all liberals.
You can say what you like about the "Liberal Media" being some kind of false rumour being spread by conservatives, but I know what I witnessed first hand back then, so......
