The Netherlands have some very special and generous laws towards foundations and how you can name a special person as its sole beneficiary. If I would want to/need to setup something secretive or hard to get at operation in Europe, a foundation in the Netherlands would definitely be one of the first options.

As for normal copyrights, we'll let someone from the Netherlands answer for sure, but they are a part of the EU and have signed collective international agreements on intellectual property. I'm 98% certain that it in many ways resemble the US view on copyright, although maybe not in every detail but the big picture, absolutely.

But referring to paragraph one, if something, like a site, is owned by/registered by a foundation, copyright or not, it can be very hard to get at. And if you do, there will never be any money, since it will allready have been paid out to the beneficiary, who has no responsibility. In other words, might be tricky and not completely easy.
