This has always been my exact issue. This time however, I went on a no-excuses program, more or less. Now when I drink, I start off slow and I take it one drink at a time. You can do it, you really can, but you have to tell yourself you WILL do it.

I used to think that I couldn't enjoy a few drinks, or worse, more than a few drinks, without smoking. But I can.

When you quit smoking, you have to do one day at a time. Otherwise, you get caught up in the "well, the Phoenix Forum is coming up...." Every day of the forum, or your vacation, is still ONE DAY AT A TIME. And with the drinks, its the same, its one drink at a time. If you go watch a game with friends, don't think, "well, by the 4th quarter, I am going to need to smoke." Just think about the drink in front of you. You will realize you are more in control than you think.

If I didn't drink, I would have no smoking issue. So working to overcome that has been my priority. Hope this helps.
