Chances are, these kids have probably never even seen the movie and only going on lines they learned. What 8 year old doesn't love to say the word "fudge"? My 9 year old says it often...acting out the shooting..what kid didn't play cowboys and indians or cops and robbers growing up?
I suppose it's the subject matter that bothers me. I've seen Scarface several times, and just never saw it as a kid's movie nor a movie that is suitable for kids to watch. Are there any actual kids IN the movie? I don't recall any, at least not any in any of the scenes with drugs or extreme violence.

I have no problem with other types of acting roles for kids. The killing and murderous playacting in horror films and war movies are one thing, but I suppose in this film it's the drugs coupled with ultra violence that would cause me to wonder about allowing a kid of mine to participate in such a school event, or even why the teacher and/or school was even allowing this particular film to be the model for the play.

whatever, maybe I'm wrong, I'll go remove the stick now. Just thinking of the young ones in my own family really, and if I'd be at all cautious or concerned if any of their schools were to want to put them in such a production. Answer: I would.
