There is a good reason why we choose to believe in fairy-tales -- namely, because they give us peace of mind as we wrestle with our fear of death and the unknown. Science has been able to tell us a great deal about life and the universe, but it is not in a position to assuage our fears of death. We are willing to overlook reason and logic because we like what religion tells us, i.e., that there is hope. The only thing that can 'cure' religion is science. However, as we have seen, there are people out there who will willingly reject scientific theory in favor of silly superstition. That is the reason most religious people are morons. In the words of Daniel Dennett, 'If you still don't believe in Evolution, you are ignorant, inexcusably ignorant.'
