it's a common usage in non-adult design to charge 50/50 or 33/33/33 (pre-on sight-on delivery), and really good designers usually ask 100% upfront. Anyway, I don't see where's the problem since you can chargeback what you paid. I'm sure there's not a single designer here that didn't get screwed doing jobs and not being paid. So the only one taking risks here is the designer, therefore, what's the problem in paying upfront, specially for something that you know is good? Is not like you won't pay for it, and I don't know what work do you need, but for 225 bucks... man, when I need something well done, I don't even blink to invest such a little amount, leave it for crappy designers asking thousands of dollars!
