I think it will pass. It sounds like they are making deals where they will pass the bill then immediately put up amendments to it to change some of the things that some of them don't like. This way they can avoid having to rewrite the bill and trying to get it through the senate. These amendments will modify some of the abortion stuff that some of the more conservative democrats don't like as well as other things.
The high level democrats, as Cykoe6 says, have too much invested now to turn back. They will make whatever deal it takes to get it through and try to fix it later.
To me it is two edged sword. Nobody really seems to know what all is in the bill and I still hold out that it will work out for the best. However I fear it will just end up costing 10 times what they thought it will and not do that much good. At the same time I think if they don't get it done now it won't be happening. The democrats are going to lose some seats in the fall elections. They may even lose control of of the house or senate (although I doubt that happens, it could). They will have a smaller majority and the republicans have zero interests in actually reforming health care. With a smaller majority they will have actually deal with the republicans and that means nothing of much merit as far as actual reform will get done.
