my first day in auto sales this happened to me as a salesperson. a young kid came walking around. he was a white kid, dressed like a hoodlum walking around with a black friend. everyone just ignored them. i walked up to the kid, greeted him like i was taught, showed him a car. took him for a test drive, gave him a price, so on so forth. He said he was going to come back with his mom to buy the car soon. I said ok. About a week went by and i had completely forgot about it. Another salesman said there is someone on the lot asking for me. I go out and it was the kid and his mother. He says "I told you i was going to come back with my mom to buy the car". That is exactly what he did. It just so happened that his grandfather died and left his mother about 20 or so acres of very lucrative land worth about 10-15 million. She was selling off small 1/4 acres for big money. He told me that before his grandfather died. He spend his entire life in a trailer park. That this was his first car. He said he went to a bunch of dealerships before mine and I was the only person who ever stopped to talk to him.
You should always treat people the way you want to be treated.
