My friend ( late 30s kinda scruffy ) owned a NASCAR Winston Cup team with his Dad and they were driving from south Florida to Charlotte NC to their race shop and stopped in Orlando to pick me up for the trip. We made it as far as Daytona before his pos Ford Expedition broke down and we had to get it fixed.
He took his SUV to the Florida Auto Mall on I-95 which is a strip of dealerships all side by side. We stopped at the Ford place and while we were waiting for the SUV to get fixed a showroom salesman walked by and my friend, who doesn't broadcast that he's a multi millionaire, asked him if they had anything nice on the floor and the salesman replied, " No, but they got some really nice ones next door at Dodge ". My friend looked at me and said " well then lets go next door ".
He then buys the nicest Dodge truck they had on the lot. We go back to the Ford place and get all are stuff out of the Expedition and transfer it over to the new truck while the salesman that dissed us watched. My friend gave him the thumbs up and said " you were right, they do have nicer vehicles over at the Dodge place ". The look on everyone there was priceless. We left the Ford at the Dodge dealership because they were kind enough to let us keep it there until we picked it up on the way back after the race.
