I would group it with anorexia, cutting, food addicts and other attention seeking 'poor me' disorders. People are behaving in a fashion that is disruptive and destructive to their lives. But what they are really doing is avoiding dealing with aspects of their lives that are over whelming to them at that particular time. I am no professional, but I would call it a avoidance strategy rather than a full blown disorder.
Sexual Addiction seems to be the new pop culture buzz for the media who uses it for exploitative headlines. There is so much shame that our culture puts on people for getting caught for being sexually active that it makes it all the more taboo

Antonio Cromartie who has 7 kids by 6 women in 5 different states. although not married that is a 1000x more irresponsible than anything Tiger did. Yet the media ignores that for the most part.
