The main reason that healthcare is so expensive in the USA, compared with other medically advanced countries like Canada and Thailand, is that we have the insurance company middlemen artificially inflating costs. In Canada, the government negotiates what is reasonable and rational. In Thailand, the market determines what people are willing to pay. The two are diametrically opposed, yet both have more affordable and -- even more importantly -- more available healthcare than we do.
