The points were like the stock market. When the stock crashes a lot of people get fucked because your points are worth nothing.
You might do a lot of good to try and help boost a lagging economy (points), and trade in the currency but that isn't a guarantee that the currency will be as valuable later.
It sucks, but that's basically what happened to you. Your points became worthless.
Btw, I was not laughing about it. GFY replaces some words with a chilidish "hahahahahahaha." They should change it to ***** instead or something.
