Why would they penalize it if it is a legit authorized tld ? If anything I think they might be more likely to give it more credit than a .com if there is adult related content on the site.

yeah, there is no comparison. How many kids sites are on the net? How many porn sites? lol. They would have likely sold a couple hundred .kids domains vs a couple million .xxx
