If it's just a few, Fusion or Parallels are fast enough for low-resource PC apps if there is no Mac version.

I agree. My two MBPs are OS X only, but I have an iMac that runs OS X and Win 7. If you stick with OS X, you'll soon find alternatives to the Win apps you still want to keep and be free of MS forever. (
www.macupdate.com) I only have 2 apps still on Windows that I want to keep, but I use them less & less all the time. Haven't used either one now in months. Win 7 is only around here for testing at this point. Nothing else.
No idea when they're coming out. (who does?)
Throw up a partition and bootcamp Win. I would bootcamp on a separate partition though. You're not losing anything by having both, and it's nice to be able to switch between them if you decide you need to, rather than "want" to and be stuck with one or the other. Give it some time and your decision on which you prefer will work itself out naturally.
Some people like Fusion or Parallels, but personally I hate the virtual environment. Too slow. I run Win 7 in its natural state. The 5 seconds it takes to reboot into it is not a big deal for me, and takes no longer than firing up Fusion anyway.
