Regardless of religious denomination, that's an act of mental instability that should not be reflected upon other followers of the religion that the person followed.

Blood transfusions are not 100% effective or life saving and medical knowledge was not the same, even 15 years ago, as it is today.

In these times doctors have found that the body is far more resilient than previously thought a decade ago in regards to blood loss.

Persons like yourself who do not have a grasp of the entire medical picture just take the opportunity to lambaste a religion, based on past information that is largely outdated.

Again, this is 2010. The majority of hospital facilities, even in third world countries, are equipped with these alternative methods. In some cases it's simply a matter of increasing the liquid volume of the blood, which nullifies the need for blood transfusions.

Remember that being a doctor is not a stagnant profession. New methodologies are found everyday and the governing body of medical professionals worldwide ensure that practicing doctors abide by the updated rules. That's why they must attend conferences and seminars.

Not to mention the fact that established medical bodies have come forward and admitted that past reliance on blood transfusions was based on information that was not entirely correct.

There doesn't need to be a defense of it. Medical information speaks for itself.

What's happening here is that persons are taking their dislike for religion and using that as a base to criticize a personal decision to reject a blood transfusion. Little do these types of persons know that reliance upon blood transfusions is becoming far less on a mainstream level and that it is quickly becoming an outdated medical procedure.

Medical technology is fast advancing. Some people need to update their info.

right now, i haven't much time to quote it partially, so, pardon me for that.

what i m saying and Yours is pretty different, yes there could be a cure that increases the liquid amount in the body.

You can even tell me that You can cure the body with a kind of remote controlled recovery technology thats all fine for me as a science and technology admirer.

what i m saying is there were some times happen without that type of cure (like You said) and probably people died because of this weird belief.

over looking any religion? no i m not that type of person who would do that, lots of time i had to defense Islam here, as i would do the same for any other believers as long as they don't harm others.

pray to a potato or worship the holly cow, i don't give a fuck.

actually as a liberal person i wouldn't normally disagree with anyone's self decision, but otherwise to science a group of people die like suicide bombers within a bunch of idiots guiding them to this stupid belief system, thats why i can't stand it.
