Belize has this tendency to block things .. ie: VOIP rarely works, SKYPE never works (or didn't for me anyways), cellphones - you need to get a separate chip to make your phone work (mostly), and hell they even ban Pepsi (the regular kind) since the Bowen's have the distribution for Coke and so they don't want the competition (LOL)
They do have Hughes.net though, through Xtreme Geeks (they're up by the High School) - but it's bloody expensive to get set up, and the monthly fee is also pretty pricey. But then, you're paying through the nose for internet there anyways (I think it was $100 USD or so for a 256Kb connection
