The Holiday Inn hotel chain in Britain is offering human bed warmers to help guests get out of the cold and into a warm bed.
With the recent cold snap and more snow predicted, the complimentary service will be offered at three hotels starting this week, according to the press release. Bed warmers in sleeper suits will spend five minutes under the covers of guests raising the bed temperature and helping guests to get a good night sleep, the release said.
Dr. Chris Idzikowski, director of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre, partnered with Holiday Inn to provide the service. A cold bed can inhibit sleep, he said, so "Holiday Inn's new bed warmers service should help people achieve a good night's sleep especially as it's taking much longer for them to warm up when they come in from the snow," he said.
