I love classical music and it kinda saddens me when TV or TV commercials oversaturate, bastardize, or otherwise piss on what would have been untainted classical music gems
Examples:
Rossini's William Tell Overture--what used to be an OPUS of an overture is now inextricably linked to fucking The Lone Ranger and Tonto. Damn.
Delibes' haunting and melodically beautiful melding of voices in the "Flower Duet" watered down into unrecognizable tripe by that British Airways ad. Sad.
Mouret's Orchestral Suite I now known as "Dude, it's the theme from Masterpiece Theater"
Of course, no need to post samples of those awesome Tchaikovsky pieces from the Nutcracker since they're commercial versions are everwhere during the Christmas holiday season...
