its frozen when it comes, what you do is you bring out say food for 2 days, then put it in the fridge, it will defrost, then you can just feed it to your dog... thats what the people i know use it do anyway..
basically they bring out patties for 2 days, put in zip lock, put in fridge, then feed dog, then on second day, bring out another for day 3, etc.. basically it takes one day to thaw in the fridge...
and your dog/cat will love it...
