Do it for free, as much as you can handle do as many gigs as possible do each and every type and ask the person how successful it was get conversion numbers sign NDA's just to see stats of tours so you can make them better. Test test test and do it all for free for 2 months, then once you are comfortable charge
But when you do charge its always cash up front 50% minimum and a maximum number of revisions. Also get a questionnaire made and have the client fill it out in advance so if they change shit you have it in writing.
