I personally can't stand guns unless I'm the one firing them.
I'm very much in favor of what you say. If we mandated training for all the things you mentioned for gun owners I'd feel a whole lot better about the whole thing. A lot of guns police find on criminals were stolen from "law abiding" gun owners. If they knew how to properly store their weapons in something like a bolted down gun safe it would go a long way.
