There is little to no rioting in the US because public protesting is technically illegal in the US. You have to get a permit first, and the person applying for the permit has to agree to take responsibility for anything bad that happens. This means that only law abiding protesters are protesting, and they are highly unlikely to riot. Protests without a permit are broken up very quickly, and don't have the chance to reach the rioting stage.
Secondly, it is no secret that riot police in the US will beat the shit out of anyone in sight if it comes to that. European police keep their distance and kind of allow protesters to air their grievances. US police run in and mace, beat and arrest everyone.
