this is one of those potential vs actual site things, isn't it?
Keep your head strong and don't let any fools mislead you.. but also know people that have the best intentions may also mislead you... it's a mug's game, this whole industry...
get in where you fit in and don't ever compromise yourself and you should be alright. You may not make the tall dollars to begin with, but at least you will still have your soul. Gain experience, find out what works and doesn't work and make the most of it. Look to and take examples from all forms. See Sharon Mitchell and what she has done and realize the short term may not be where you make your mark but you can indeed make your mark if you are steadfast and bullshit free.
That is all I have to say about that...
