He just started calling me that one day, and I laughed to myself, he's been using it ever since he started doing projects for me. Never got the "sir" treatment from a Filipino worker myself. When I started off outsourcing stuff I figured India was the route to go. Those guys use "sir" like a period to end their sentences I swear. Aside from that I find so much more gets lost in translation working with Indians as opposed to Filipinos. Of course this doesn't apply to every single outsourced worker on the internet, but in general I found this to be pretty consistent in my hiring out for jobs. If I want the job done the way i want it done, I usually have an easier time communicating my ideas clearly to a Filipino. I find their conversational English to be very good overall, and this goes miles when it comes to getting shit done properly. I can't praise that point enough.
