What a terrible year it has been for so many people... I know it's just a ceremonial change, but I hope the coming of 2010 will mean better things for you and your daughter. I am also a single parent of a 9 year old, and I totally get that responsibility; my only advice is to use it, use it to find the strength you need to get to wherever you need to be in life.
