Aaron, let's say your content is owned by your business. If I read correctly (and not being an attorney, I'm probably wrong!) below ... why can't I hire an attorney as an employee and make them custodian of records, and keep the records in their office?


"(2) If the person to whom subsection (a) of this section applies is an organization the statement required by this subsection shall include the name, title, and business address of the individual employed by such organization responsible for maintaining the records required by this section. "

I ask this because one of the major content providers has in their 2257 statement their business name as custodian of records. I've since requested a name but haven't received it yet. If this is not in compliance with the law, I'd love them to be added to your list so they CAN comply quickly or risk losing customers.

But as I'm not primary producer, could I then -- theoretically -- hire that attorney?
