thx, hope it works out best for you. i was sued in a similar fashion. it was the first drowning in a united states waterpark, 1984ish. i was the head lifeguard of the area, not responsible for watching the area where the drowning took place but i was sued anyways. got drug through court and told i killed the woman, etc.

judges in canada give out fuck all in cases like this.... the USA if different - in canada you get lost work and a kick in the ass - your lawyer fees will be higher than your judgment and you can only recover lawyer fees based on a fee schedule from like 1973 or something...
plus i'm in bankruptcy so the BEST case scenario is to be included in the estate proceeds which there are a LOT of other people in with HUGE claims.
the net result after lawyer fees out of her pocket will be negative if she wins HANDS DOWN.
it's not worth it here, this is just paying for a lawyer's kids to goto college
I feel sorry for her, but it happened on the street too, not on my company's property.
they're claiming no security - they had like 8-10 guards on that night, i was there that night about an hour before it happened - they all had radios...in her own statement she was standing beside a security guard - one even got shot protecting a client...
