If you are in the US, offshore wont matter. And you really wont be able to protect your identity. Websites dont go to jail, people do.
And as for civil lawsuits, again if you are in the US it wont be that hard to find you. Someone with enough money and a PI will be able to do it. You probably already gave your info to GFY so therefore someone already knows who you are.
