If u are really interested in getting a dell, i suggest u go to
www.fatwallet.com and look out for ppl posting coupons for a dell. You can get away with a deell 500m for alil bit over 1300CAD. keep in mind its basic.. but still, at 1500 bux u can prob get a good deal. have them ship it to somewhere in the states and bring it back: the warrenty just gets transfered to dell canada.
but remember, u must buy from dell.com and not dell.ca
