But I can see we'renot going to agree on that...

If you take your business to the latest outlets and those outlets allow you to close a profitable sale, where the fuck is the failure in that? You're just getting with the fucking times. Soemthign that business NEEDS to do.

Your cellphone story is a perfect example of that. Now you might not think of having a cellphone as being "progressive" anymore, being as everyone and their uncle's dog has one now. But consider what may have happened to that sale, had you not been with the times and did not have a cellphone?

Now I'm sure you'll probably snap back with some explanation of how a cellphone and twitter cannot be compared or some other apples and oranges bullshit, but no. they are both a medium which facilitates the communication allowing the sale.

Is your cellphone worth $16k? No. Did it help you to make a $16k sale? Absolutely. Are you going to laugh at idiots with cellphones who've used them to make sales? Probably not, so why does Twitter stand apart from that?

Again, if Twitter (even as stupid as it is, and yes it IS stupid) allows for people to do business and works for the business in a way that generates revenue for the business. Where the fuck is the fail? WHERE THE FUCK IS THE FAIL????

I makes me laugh, that people laugh at twitter and it's business applications, even when proof of it's application is slapped right in their face. That IS progressive business using the latest trends to facilitate their business. End of story.
Whoa, hold on a second dude. I think you took what I said to mean that companies SHOULDN'T be proactive on places like Twitter to market, achieve sales etc. Of COURSE they should - it's easy and practically free compared to other means of marketing. All I was saying is that it says nothing about how well they serve their customers, how good their product or service actually is, etc., just how effectively they do sales. Most companies could care less - sales = money. I'm just saying a potential customer should not look at a proactive sales response as a reason to go with a particular company over another. It's certainly not a BAD thing to the customer, but it should have little or no bearing on the meat of their decision. Buying something on the basis of that or what 99% of sales calls generally are ("what do you need? yes we can do it, our competition sucks, buy buy buy") is like converting to Mormon because a couple of nice Mormon fellows came to my door and wanted to discuss how my life could be improved by becoming a Mormon. The sad thing is it's still effective and works.
