You have to accept they will always have a bad reputation. I personally don't like the dogs, however I do know they can be good dogs. Its all in the upbringing like with all dogs. Pits do tend to have a bit of a bad nature tho that you can't argue with.

As I always say tho its in how you raise your dog. I won't be hypocritical and say I don't worry if I see a Pit Bull of a leash when I'm walking my dog because I do. So far I've only came across one that tried to attack my dog but it was on a leash and caught the owner off guard as he came to my house and my dog was sitting at the fence. He apologised to me immediately and pulled his dog on a tighter leash.
