Total bull since the contractor has an OPEN account.. It's amazing that a law allows the lumber yard to go after the owner of the house who did not apply for the open credit account or has the lumber bill ....If the contractor failed to pay, I would have to prove that I had paid him the money..
Good thing he is someone I know and can trust... ( knock on wood )

Had that here in Canada for a condo. I didn't take the supplied kitchen but got a legal lien on my property because the contractor hadn't paid. Same with elevator company.
Stinks when you do not about that.
