In Canada (at least where I am from) Halloween is purely a childrens holiday. Anyone over 15-16 doesn't get involved outside of getting candy and maybe making some pies and seeds.

Why is it that Americans (especially women) like to dress up and consume too much alcohol on what should be a childrens holiday?
