Re: NYG "soft" schedule.
Sorry, I don't think it's quite that cut and dried, for EITHER NO or the Giants. Granted in week 1 they faced the deadskins, but it wasn't a slaughter. Week 2 was actually a tough game, they barely beat Dallas, and coincidentally that loss to the cowgirls was the one that dealt them a death blow as it's been pretty much all downhill for them in the weeks since. Tampa, KC, and Oakland in weeks 3, 4 and 5, okay you got me there, those games were a given pretty much.
But NO didn't exactly have a steep hill to climb in the early weeks either. Detroit in week 1? Come on, and Detroit put up 27 points against them! NO killed Philly in week 2 but the eagles then were not the same Eagles team we've been seeing lately. I think if the Saints played the eagles today the game would be vastly different. Then in week 3 they hammered Buffalo. You're telling me Buffalo is a tough game? Please. And Seattle in week 4 wasn't the same team we're seeing this and last week. That wasn't a tough game for them either, the Seahawks were useless up until week 5.
My point is both teams have had a relatively easy time of it so far. This game really should prove which one is the real deal and which one is merely a contender with potential.
For the record I initially went with the Saints in my pool picks, but am now having second thoughts. I may have to switch it.
