I might disagree with this a little. For sure it seems like the current generation that is age 15-25ish seems more entitled then most, but I think those who really were entitled and spoiled were not working before so they wouldn't be out of work now.

I think a lot of this has to do with the down economy. Most teenage/high school kids work (at least where I live) in grocery stores stocking shelves, cleaning up and carrying out groceries or they work in fast food places or pumping gas in gas stations and things like that. They work low wage jobs that they can work on evenings and weekends. In high school I worked at a small store and all of my friends had similar jobs. But with the economy in the crapper I think there are more and more older people now taking those jobs than ever before because they are out of work and need something so they go to work at McDonalds or Taco Bell or the local gas station so they can get some money while they look for a better job.

If you run a McDonalds and need some extra help who are you going to hire: one guy who can work any hours you want and will put in the 40+ you need on any shift or a couple of teenagers who are still in high school and combined can only work about 15-20 hours a week and have shift restrictions due to school and their age?
