3 posts above the post of yours I'm quoting, I state that it's half of what it was 20 years ago. That statement is a link. You can click it and get the info you're asking for, exact numbers for the past few decades.
If you take a close look, you'll see that murders in DC had been rising before the gun ban, dropped a bit when the gun ban was implemented then stayed at roughly the same level for about a decade, rose sharply during the crack epidemic, then dropped back to something close to their '76 levels between '93 to '08.
To state that the murder rates in DC quadrupled because of the gun ban is absolutely ludicrous. Rather, looking at the numbers the gun ban appears to have reduced murders slightly. What made the numbers jump at one point wasn't the gun ban, but the crack epidemic.
But hey, why let something as simple and boring and facts get in the way of you idiocy, right?
