same thing here, i grew up in a small city of 45k. I thought I was Italian for awhile. For awhile there were a fair amount of Jewish families and a nice synagogue but everybody split and the synagogue was sold to a Baptist church.

I grew up in a city (Montreal) with an extremely large and tight jewish community. Its a very unique and strong community with a fascinating history. You can gleen some from the book/movies Duddy Kravitz and Lies My Father Told Me.
