You just said it well. We dont want to try to make you into something you are not, it just doesnt "ring true" with the viewer. A hotdog cut in half and put in a hamburger bun is still a kick ass hotdog and the bun is perfection itself, but people *know* they dont go together.
Ok maybe thats crude, but as long as they remember: you can do everything right, and still not win. It's not a failing in you, someone just fit better that day.
