We have Sony Vegas 9, Sorenson Squeeze 5, Virtualdub, and Avisynth.
Clips start as .mts files in Sony. We edit and rendered to uncompressed avi. Then use Squeeze to make flash file.

I've had issues in the past where you mark the option to deinterlace in squeeze and it doesn't really do it. Re-encode direct from your editor to mpeg2 with deinterlace set.
