Sit down with the widow of a firefighter and his orphaned children who died because you opebned a window and caused a huge backdraft while trying to save your dog and see if this story carries the same weight. If this guy ran into a burning building before the firemen arrived, ok - that's cool. Once they show up, let them do their job.

I love pets, but the value of a human life is far greater.

This guy put the rescue workers in peril, and we're just the results weren't tragic.
