Do you have a dog? I do. I have him since he was 5 weeks old, when could barely walk, he's 1 & 1/2 now sleeping by my feet as I write this. Really, he's not just a dog to me, he's like my own child. You'd have to really have a pet and very willingly (not cos your spouse/bf/gf forced one on you) to know the feeling.

I grew up with a dog from age 5 to 22. I loved my dog, and yeah i would risk my life for my dog. But as a fireman, i would not risk my life to save some rednecks' pitbull.
