Do you have a dog? I do. I have him since he was 5 weeks old, when could barely walk, he's 1 & 1/2 now sleeping by my feet as I write this. I think I'd do anything to save his life including endangering my own life. I can't even imagine him standing there surrounded by fire crying for 'daddy' to rescue him. Really, he's not just a dog to me, he's like my own child. You'd have to really have a pet and very willingly (not cos your spouse/bf/gf forced one on you) to know the feeling.
